Yoga is well known for helping to develop & maintain flexibility, but equal importance & emphasis is given to strength & stamina; & above all comes working with the mind. Inner concentration of your awareness is part of all the practices, which over time increases mental focus & develops an ongoing sense of harmony. This is the essential goal of Yoga. So Yoga is more than just exercise, it is a holistic discipline of self development, which promotes overall health & well-being. Regular Yoga practice helps you to be at your optimum in mind, body & self.
There are probably as many Yoga styles & approaches as there are teachers, but all paths ultimately point to that same essential goal. So the type of Yoga you choose is really just a matter of personal preference.
